Isaiah Stewart of the Detroit Pistons was arrested for allegedly punching Drew Eubanks of the Phoenix Suns before to the game

Shortly before their planned game, Detroit Pistons center Isaiah Stewart was in deep water for reportedly attacking Phoenix Suns center Drew Eubanks. Stewart was arrested for assault following the confrontation in the Footprint Center parking lot in Phoenix, but he was eventually given a citation and let go.

Witnesses claimed that the altercation swiftly got out of hand and that Stewart punched Eubanks, who was slightly hurt. The confrontation ended when security intervened to keep the two players apart.

Regarding the event, comments were released by the Suns and the Pistons. The Suns declared their support for Eubanks and denounced the violence, calling the incident unwarranted. The Pistons admitted becoming aware of the circumstance and said they were obtaining data so they could react to the NBA and local authorities in a suitable manner.

Stewart has been involved in altercations on the court before. He was given a two-game suspension in 2021 after getting into a fight with Los Angeles Lakers player LeBron James.

The Pistons coach, Monty Williams, criticized the Suns' announcement as hasty and advised against passing judgment until all the information is in. Kevin Durant, a top player for the Suns, stressed the need to put the game first and move on from these kinds of situations.

The continuing investigation into the altercation underscores the need of holding people accountable and guaranteeing the professionalism and safety of everyone associated with NBA games.
